Since starting my homeschool journey with Scarlett, I have learned so much more than I ever expected. When I first began, I wasn’t quite sure what homeschooling would be like, but it has become an amazing experience filled with learning, creativity, challenges, and personal growth.
Looking back, I can see how much I have changed. I have become more confident, more creative, more independent, and more willing to try new things.
Learning Life Skills
One of the most important things I have learned is responsibility. I have learned how to clean up after myself, take care of my belongings, stay organised, and manage my time better.
I have also learned how to speak confidently with adults, behave respectfully in public places, and take responsibility for the resources I use. These skills may seem small, but they are important lessons that will help me throughout my life.
My Writing Journey
Writing is one of the areas where I have grown the most.
Through journaling, blog writing, and creative activities, I have improved my handwriting, spelling, sentence structure, and ability to organise my ideas. I have also learned how to make my writing more engaging by including my thoughts, feelings, and reflections.
Writing this blog is a perfect example of how much my confidence as a writer has grown.
Creating My Brand and Website
One of the most exciting projects I have worked on has been creating my own brand and website.
I designed a logo, chose colours that represent my personality, and started thinking about how I want people to see my brand. I also learned how technology and AI can be used creatively to help develop ideas and bring projects to life.
This experience has inspired me to dream about becoming a business owner one day.
Maths Learning
In maths, I have practised addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, measurement, time, money, shapes, graphs, and problem-solving.
Maths has sometimes been challenging for me, but it has also taught me perseverance. I have learned that when I keep trying and do not give up, I can understand things that once seemed difficult.
Growing as an Artist
Art has been one of my favourite parts of my learning journey.
One of the biggest things I have learned is art. I have learned many new techniques, including blending, creating texture, using different brush strokes, and making paintings look more realistic. I have also learned about the difference between realism and abstract art and how artists use different styles to express their ideas.
One of my favourite pieces was a painting I created for my mum’s birthday. I was very proud of it because it showed how much my skills had improved.
Art is something I am truly passionate about, and it has helped me become more creative and confident.
Creativity Everywhere
One thing I have discovered is that creativity is everywhere.
Creativity is not just painting. It can be found in writing a blog, designing a website, creating a vision board, solving problems, planning projects, and dreaming about future goals.
Learning to think creatively has helped me see opportunities in places I never noticed before.
Vision Boards and Creative Projects
One of my favourite projects was creating my vision board.
My vision board helped me think about my goals, dreams, and the future I want to create. It reminded me that anything is possible if I work hard and believe in myself.
I have also created artwork, gifts, and special projects for my family. These projects taught me that creativity can be used to make meaningful things for the people we love.
Gymnastics and a Winning Mindset
Gymnastics is a huge part of my life.
I have spent many hours practising routines, improving techniques, and developing my skills. Through gymnastics, I have learned discipline, determination, resilience, and confidence.
I have developed what I like to call a winning mindset. This doesn’t mean winning every competition. It means working hard, believing in myself, and always giving my best effort.
My Natural Skincare and Wellness Journey
Recently, I have become very interested in health, wellness, and natural skincare.
One of my dreams is to create my own natural skincare brand one day. I enjoy researching ingredients, healthy habits, and ways to care for skin naturally.
I have also been learning about foods that support healthy skin, healthy hair, and overall wellbeing. Learning about wellness has shown me that taking care of ourselves is just as important as achieving our goals.
Emotional Growth
One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that it is okay not to know everything straight away.
Sometimes learning feels difficult, but I have learned to ask questions, keep trying, and stay positive. I have become more confident, more independent, and more willing to challenge myself.
Each challenge has helped me grow stronger.
Looking Ahead
I am excited about everything that comes next.
I want to continue growing as an artist, gymnast, writer, and future entrepreneur. I am also looking forward to turning my playroom into an art studio one day where I can create, experiment, and explore new ideas.
Most of all, I am excited to continue learning new art skills. Art is one of my favourite things to do, and I love learning new techniques and trying different styles. I am excited to see how much I can grow as an artist in the future.
